WHAT TO EXPECT

Ride the bike like a traditional bicycle with the pedal assist off if you want to break a sweat. Turn the pedal assist on to reduce your effort and take in the surroundings. The three modes of assist: Eco, Mid, and High will allow each rider to customize how much effort it takes to pedal. Try the subtle assist in Eco on flat ground. Kick it to High when a hill approaches. The Kettler Twin allows everyone to conquer the hills around Asheville with a smile.

THE TECHNOLOGY

Kettler electric bikes feature a Panasonic center mount motor, which is tucked away within the elegant design of the bike. With many electric bikes the motor is found in the front or back hub of the wheel. The center mount motor powers the chain ring instead of the wheel, which provides far greater torque and efficiency than a hub motor.

The torque sensor measures how much pressure you put on the pedals and then tells the 250w motor to give power in relation to how hard you are pedaling. The Twin is powered by a 36v 14amp Lithium Ion battery that plugs in to a household outlet and charges fully in a few hours. On one charge the bikes can go for up to 90 miles depending on terrain, style of riding, and rider weight. A Shimano Internal Hub 7 speed shifter provides 7 different gears to suit any terrain. Powerful XL brake pads provide unrivaled braking control. Front and rear lights ensure visibility at all times. The sleek design integrates all of the electric components into a bicycle that you would be more likely to find on a street in the Netherlands than America.
